MEDIATION PHILOSOPHY:
I believe the "Empowerment Model" holds the best hope for bringing about settlements that result in long lasting resolution as opposed to the "Directive Model" that focuses primarily on attaining a resolution of the stated area(s) of disagreement. I am a dedicated practitioner of the "Transformative Model" which is a refinement of the Empowerment Model, and I am enthusiastic about its use in situations where the dispute is concerned with family and divorce issues, redress in the workplace or in situations normally requiring an ombudsman. Dispute resolution, wherein the parties in dispute are allowed to work out their own solutions and develop trust, such as those found in the divorce, family, and workplace, hold the best opportunity for true resolution as opposed to those found in tort cases where the "Directive" and "Caucus Model" are normally used.
